Joe Saucedo (he/him), father, husband, social justice advocate
A proud Mexican-American from San Antonio, Texas, Joe now lives with his wife Cat, their three sons Cruz, Esai, and Diego in Skokie, Illinois. He contributed a birth story to the inaugural e-book published by Fathering Together and has connected with other dads in the Chicago area through meet-ups in person and online. Most recently, Joe helped to launch the Facebook group – Dads for Racial Equity. This online space is meant for any dad who wishes to build their racial literacy and raise anti-racist children.
Joe is a first-generation college graduate from Georgetown University and the University of California-Los Angeles. He has more than a decade of experience engaged in college access, diversity education, and student retention programming. In 2019, Joe joined the Chicago-based nonprofit, Partnership for College Completion. In his role as Equity Program Manager, he advises and consults with community colleges and four-year universities across northern Illinois to assist them with closing graduation gaps that persist among Black, Latinx, and low-income students.
